Are you a business woman?

As a professional business women you have invested a lot in your business; time, effort, blood sweat and tears, to get where you are today. Most women start their business with an idea, dream, particular skill set or vision. You work hard and hope to create a lifestyle you can enjoy.

If you or your business partners are not able to work in the business due to an illness or accident, the consequences can be dramatic. Profits can fall, loans may have to be repaid at short notice or, at worst, and the future viability of the business can come under threat.

It is essential for you as a business owner to know that, even if the worst should happen you will have the financial means to stay on track. A Business Succession Plan provides a unique way of helping protect business finances.

Remember: Nothing can cripple, or even sink a business faster than the inability to pay loan instalments, pay tax bills, rent, salaries and suppliers.

A business succession plan can help ensure that these areas of risk are covered and will ensure that your business continues to grow and flourish, regardless of what life throws at you.

You create, we protect.

As a business owner, you are vulnerable in four areas:

Are you a professional woman?

As a professional woman you have invested a lot in your future career and you will have many hopes and dreams based around that. You have worked hard to get to where you are enjoying the life you have created for yourself.

To ensure your lifestyle continues, no matter what life may throw at you, we can protect your income so that if your doctor tells you can’t work for the short or long term, or not in your occupation ever again, then we can provide you with a monthly income, and/or lump sum to get you through these times with no financial hardship, while you concentrate on getting better or redesigning your life going forward.

As you know life is full of unexpected events and you can probably think of someone in your family, or a friend or a colleague who has had their world turned upside down with an expected event around an illness or an injury.

As a woman one of your biggest risks is around a diagnosis of cancer. NZ woman have the second-highest rates of cancer in the world at 287 new cases a year per 100,000 women, second only to Denmark.

My wish for you should this happen would be to ensure your income was protected and that you would receive a lump sum to ensure you had no financial hardship and that you had access to any drugs or treatment that were Medsafe approved, regardless of whether Pharmac fund them or not.

My role is to ensure that if an unexpected event did occur, that you are protected financially, so you have choices and time to get on with what’s really important, that’s you and your health and wellbeing.
